A Study of the Input and Output Variability in Jute Breaker Card

M.C. Mazumder

Indian Jute Industries' Research Association, 17 Taratala Road, Calcutta, 700 053, India

The finding of a study on input and output variability (computed on input test length multiplied by the draft) at the breaker card stage is reported here. It has been shown that, under normal condi tions, breaker card itself does not contribute towards added irregularity, even when different drafts and different grades of fibers are used. Control of the regularity at the input is essential to achieve better regularity of breaker card sliver.
