The Prediction of the Yield of Greasy Wool by Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy

Part I : Principles and Washed Wool1

The prediction of the yield of greasy wool from the estimation of the wool content of washed wool by near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy is demonstrated. This rapid, dry, nondestructive instrumental method is free from systematic error and approaches the accuracy of the conventional gravimetric method against which it is calibrated.
