Methods of Electrically Charging CottonSouthern Regional Research Center1, New Orleans, Louisiana 70179, U.S.A. Triboelectric, corona, and contact charging were studied as a means for effectively charging cotton fibers in an attempt to design a system for supplying fibers to a three-phase AC airless transporting device. The minimum charge on a fiber for these devices to be effective is approximately 10-10 C/fiber.
