Applying Capillarity to Estimation of Space Structure of FabricsFaculty of Education, Chiba University, Yayoicho 1-33, Chiba-city, 260 Japan The geometric structures of 13 varieties of fabric were estimated by applying a capillary model to their spaces. Employing a wetting liquid, n-dodecane, the equilibrium liquid absorption method and the centrifugal liquid removal method were combined to obtain the internal volume distribution of the whole range of radii larger than 0.18 µm. The critical pressure method provided the maximum capillary radius passing through the plane of a fabric. The relationship between these data and fabric con struction is discussed.
