Comparing the Wrinkle Recovery of Cotton Fabrics: An Appraisal of AATCC Test Method 66-1978

Variations in wrinkle recovery values for untreated and treated cotton fabrics caused by unknown degrees of ageing are discussed. A method for avoiding this problem is reported which involves a wet pressing procedure and conditioning in a standard atmosphere. This method should improve the interlaboratory reproducibility of results for samples tested according to AATCC Test Method 66-1978.
