Mechanism of Loop Formation at Extreme Cam Settings on a Sinker Top MachinePart I: Relationship Between Count, Gauge, and Tightness FactorDepartment of Textile Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, New Delhi 110016, India
Department of Textile Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, New Delhi 110016, India Rotor spun cotton yarns of various counts were knitted on a Krenzler TK-1 using cylinders of different gauges under predetermined processing conditions using extreme cam setting values. Data on the loop length of the resultant dry-relaxed fabrics were used to generate relationships between yam count, gauge of sinker top machines, and range of tightness factors of the resulting fabrics. Thus it is possible to select combi nations of yarn linear density and machine gauge objectively.
