New Reactive Auxiliaries for the Dye-Resist Treatment of Wool: Part IIDeutsches Wollforschungs Institut an der Technischen Hochschule Aachen e. V., Aachen 52062, Germany
Deutsches Wollforschungs Institut an der Technischen Hochschule Aachen e. V., Aachen 52062, Germany The sorption behavior of reactive dye-resist compounds and their localization on wool fibers were investigated, and the influence of structural changes in the dye molecule on resist effectiveness was determined. The anionic dyes selected varied in acidity, dye-fiber bonding type, and migration behavior. Resistance against hydrophobic dyes was poor. A minimum of dye acidity was needed to obtain a significant resist effect. Further, low migration ability led to higher resist effects.
