This work investigates the degree and stability of flat set for a series of plain weft knitted structures made from ring and rotor spun yams produced from cotton, poly ester, and polyester blends. While the flat set of cotton fabrics shows more or less similar values following bleaching and dyeing, for polyester fabrics a lower value follows scouring and heat setting. Of the various methods used to study the degree of flat set, curling couple merits consideration in view of its sensitivity.
