The Diameter Dependence of Fiber Medullation and the Medullation Weighting Function

The concept of a medullation weighting function is introduced as a means of describing variations in fiber medullation with fiber diameter. Developed principally as an aid to model wool fiber diameter distributions containing medullated fibers, the medullation weighting function may find wider applicability for classifying animal fibers.
