The study used stainless steel fibers as core yarns and wrapped them in polypropylene fibers. Three yarns were designed and a composite yarn was braided by a braiding machine to obtain good experimental materials. The yarn surface was rough and uneven to increase frictional force between the geogrid and concrete. Exactly how geogrids and concrete are related is also discussed.

Key Words: geogrid • polypropylene fibers • stainless steel fibers
